Total beginner

Who is this for?

You have not studied any Arabic before! We recommend that you focus on pronunciation and learn to read/write the Arabic script first. This might be a helpful place to start to introduce you to Levantine Arabic if you’ve studied other dialects too! For those who have already studied Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), check out our our free online Alphabet book instead.

Levantine Arabic alphabet group course

Outline

This online live group course is the interactive addition to our free online Alphabet book and teaches you the Levantine pronunciation as opposed to the more formal Modern Standard Arabic that few actually speak.

At the end of the course you will be able to pronounce simple Arabic words, slowly read and write with the Levantine dialect accent, all with the support of our in-house tutor along the way.

Content & timings

  1. 10 x 1 hour online video classes of maximum 3-6 learners with our experienced tutor – exact times/dates to be agreed by group availability
  2. Strong focus on pronunciation feedback to get your language journey off to a strong start
  3. Learning through engaging listening, speaking, reading and writing activities

Full access to the interactive course for just £99!

Will I reach intermediate level after this course?
You’ll still need 100’s of hours of additional self study, tuition, or immersion to move to an intermediate level as Levantine Arabic is still a hard language for a native English speaker.

Intermediate

Who is this for?

You can understand basic Levantine Arabic grammar and have a listening vocabulary of roughly 2500 words passively and can use 1000 words actively. We run two levels Lower Intermediate (CEFR B1) and Higher Intermediate (CEFR B2) on both the courses below to suit your needs.

Our focus at this level is engaging with the language in real life contexts and getting ourselves comfortable with not having to get everything, but rather understanding meaning through engaging activities and building from there!

Intermediate:
Single-topic group classes

How does it work?

  1. We focus narrowly on one particular topic, like health or music, or food.
  2. The material is tailored to your level and topic – we’ll run a class if two others share your needs!
  3. We use a range of video, storytelling and games to bring to life your chosen topic.
  4. The course includes a 4–month Playaling subscription which we use in the course and for homework. Playaling has a library of Levantine dialect English/Levantine Arabic videos.

Content and timings

  1. 9 x 1.5 hour long weekly online lessons with 3-6 students
  2. 1 x 1 hour 1-1 session to make a presentation and to discuss next steps with the teacher.

Price: £149
