ت is written in the same shape as ب but its two dots are on top and it is a connector to other letters. Remember to read from the Arabic text from the right to the left and look for the colured text for ت.

You can remember that taa has two dots, like ‘two’.

Exercise 1: Breaking up words into letters

Please break up the following words in into isolated letters. These words have no meaning, they are just for practice.

For example بُبَ would become بُ followed by بَ. Rememeber to read the Arabic from right to left!

Again, remember to read from right to left in Arabic! Note some examples have short vowels do not. You need to get used to both.
